2010 MONTE CARLO OPEN
FINAL
RAFAEL NADAL v FERNANDO VERDASCO
6-0, 6-1

Nadal's title drought is now a thing
of the past.
Nadal won his first tournament in almost a year when he thoroughly
defeated Spanish compatriot Fernando Verdasco in Monte Carlo.
The second-seeded Nadal overpowered Verdasco with a stunning display of
attacking clay-court tennis to earn his sixth straight victory at Monte Carlo,
but his first title since the Rome
Masters in May 2009.
Nadal was thrilled with his level of play and decided to take rest instead of
playing the following week in Barcelona to stay fresh for Roland
Garros.
