2010 INDIAN WELLS
3rd Round
ROGER FEDERER v MARCOS BAGHDATIS
5-7,7-5,7-6

Federer had match points in the 2nd set but failed to convert. The world #1 player was just cruising through his service games with crisp serving and tremendous volleys.
But Baghdatis was gaining confidence as the match progressed. When the Cypriot was given another set to play, he seemed to know that he had a chance to beat Federer
for the first time in 7 attempts. Halfway through the 3rd set, there was a long rally where both players where ripping shots. Federer lined up and blasted what was supposed
to be the decisive shot crosscourt, but not only did Baghdatis get to it, but he unleashed an even more powerful reply that had an even better angle to win the point. The momentum
was with Marcos as they went into a tiebreak. Federer utilized a chip&charge return that worked beautifully that was either a stroke of genius or a sign of desperation. This
match was filled with point after point of amazing tennis. Simply a brilliant match. (*missing 3 games in 1st set due to early round coverage going to another match)
Baghdatis lost another tight 3 setter to Robredo in the next round, but this is a match he will remember forever!
