2009 ROME MASTERS
FINAL
RAFAEL NADAL v NOVAK DJOKOVIC
7-6, 6-2

Spain’s Rafael Nadal beat defending champion Novak Djokovic of Serbia in the
final to win a record 4th Rome Masters.
Djokovic played the world number 1 even in the first set, but he was blown away
in the second set by Nadal,
who left no doubt that he is the player to beat at the French Open later this
month.
The Serb has never defeated Nadal on clay in eight meetings, but he has arguably
played the Spaniard the toughest on that surface over the past 12 months.
Nadal has won 30 straight clay-court matches and has an overall record of 147-6
on clay.
