Novak Djokovic has had a turbulent year and has struggled to maintain top form. 

Nadal seeemed to be finding his form after taking several week off to rehabilitate his knees which have been wrought with

tendinitis.  But in the semi-finals in Cincinnati, Djokovic came out blazing, serving aces, blasting passing shots, and racing like a gazelle. 

Nadal had no answers to the Serbian's game in the first set, and although Rafael Nadal tried to dig deeper and hold him off,

Novak continued his great play to secure the win and his second consecutive appearance in the finals in Cincinnati.

Nadal might have been hampered by a stomach muscle injury, but even at full strength he would have found it very difficult

to contend with Djokovic on this day.
