The 20 year old Juan Martin Del Potro from Argentina dethroned Federer at the NY Open.
Del Potro put on an inspired performance as he repeatedly crushed forehands over 100mph that left Federer reeling.
Federer had a string of 40 straight wins at the Open during the past 5 years, but now that is over.

Several moments were out of character for the Swiss champion during the match.
Federer had a verbal argument with the chair umpire where he unleashed several expletives.
Federer also was uncharacteristically shaky on his serve and finished with 11 double faults.
But Federer competed hard until the last point was over, he just couldn't match the power and depth that Del Potro could generate from his giant forehand swings.
An amazing tournament for Del Potro beating both Nadal and Federer to secure the title, and all at just 20 years of age!
