2008 TORONTO MASTERS
FINAL
RAFAEL NADAL v NICOLAS KIEFER
6-3 6-2

Rafael Nadal continued his seemingly unstoppable march towards the world number
one spot by capturing the Toronto Masters title.
The Spaniard brushed aside Nicolas Kiefer 6-3 6-2 to clinch his fifth straight
tournament and take his winning streak to 29 matches.
Kiefer is a fiesty opponent and he brought his bag of tricks and his habitual
quirks were out on full display.
But the problem with playing Nadal is that right now he runs down every shot and
he never misses.
That adds up to a nightmare for every opponent, especially since his left handed
spins make most players even more uncomfortable.
Nadal is so close to finally overtaking Federer's top spot after the #1 dropped out in the 2nd round to the unheralded Gilles Simon.
