2008 CINCINNATI MASTERS
FINALS
ANDY MURRAY v NOVAK DJOKOVIC
7-6 , 7-6

Both players were clearly fired up as the opening
games went with serve in a thrilling exhibition of tennis, with the on court
action as searing as the unrelenting overhead sun.
Djokovic held the advantage after serving first, but Murray was far from
overwhelmed in his maiden Masters Series final and held his serve, and nerve, to
take the first set into a tie-break.
An early break helped him rapidly establish a 3-0 advantage, and the British No
1 maintained the pressure to complete a thoroughly deserved victory.
The Scot mixed sound baseline strokes with deft drop shots and exceptional
agility at the net as he outmanouevered his opponent,
clearly buoyed by his victory over the 3rd ranked
Serbian in the Toronto Masters last week.
