2007 US OPEN
4th Round
NIKOLAY DAVYDENKO v TOMMY HAAS
6-3 6-3 6-4

Davydenko swept aside Haas 6-3 6-3
6-4 to book a last-four meeting with world number one Roger Federer.
Davydenko had to come from two sets down to beat Haas at the same stage last
year but he was far too strong for the German on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old remains the only man in the draw not to have dropped a set.
Davydenko, known more for his work ethic, defensive abilities, and workhorse of
the ATP tour, has added some firepower to his game of late.
The Russian is striking the ball
early to take time away from his opponents, a la Andre Agassi, and is hitting
impressive angles to open up the court.
Haas, who had played two five set-matches before taking on Davydenko, was full
of praise for his opponent.
"The guy's a tough player," Haas said. "You just have to hand it to him today.
He came up with some great shots, very defensive play. At times he makes you try
to do too much.
"Every time I would try to do something different or fight my way out of it or
do something he came up with an answer.
