Sharapova won in straight sets, but it wasn't that easy as she had to fight from a 0-3 deficit in the second set.  Sharapova advanced to the semifinals after Hantuchova needed medical treatment for a thigh injury.  Sharapova was able to break her opponents serve and finish out the match.
