In a French Open semifinal billed as a heavyweight title fight, the fourth-seeded Nadal proved he was more than just the game's newest hot shot with Friday's 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over Federer, the top-ranked player in the world.
"It's a dream for me. I'm very happy to beat the No. 1 and play in the final," said Nadal, who becomes the youngest men's finalist at Roland Garros since American Michael Chang, the champion in 1989 at age 17.
